Worship

Hayley DiMarco, in her book Woman of Mystery brings out a great truth in the chapter on worship. 

"Worship doesn't stop when the music ceases or the words don't come; it must continue through the actions of our lives.  In the words of Richard Foster, 'As worship begins in holy expectancy, it ends in holy obedience...Holy obedience saves worship from becoming an opiate, an escape from the pressing needs of modern life.'  The way we worship is not only in specific times of adoring and enjoying God but also in choosing to live all of life with Him in mind.  We don't worship just to experience relief but to obey God.  Who or what we worship will determine what we do with our lives...The worship of contentment can lead to gluttony as we seek things life food, possessions, and approval to bring comfort to our troubled hearts.  Each problem in our lives ca be traced back to misguided worship.  When we give anything or anyone other than God the throne in our lives, we will inevitably get our hearts broken."
