Another doe. As in "doe, a deer, a female deer"...

Oh my goodness...something very strange keeps happening to me!!!!  Remember my post from Sunday (as in 4 days ago) when I was driving on I-80/90 going approximately 70 miles per hour and I was singing along with the Sound of Music soundtrack...and it came to song, "Do, Re, Mi" and I glanced off to the side of the road and saw that doe???  Do you remember?  (I'm hoping that you are nodding your head...)

Well, after a terrible day at work today (and it wasn't truly terrible, it was just really rough and full of all kinds of CRRRRRRR-AZINESS)...I popped in the soundtrack because I was thinking to myself, What would cheer me up?  Perhaps singing along with Julie Andrews about my favorite things....well, maybe I will start with "Do, Re, Mi..."  Surely that will brighten my day.

So I found that the CD was in slot #3.  The song started and I said outloud (I LITERALLY SAID THIS OUTLOUD!!!!!!!!!), "Lord, are you going to send another deer?" 0.3 seconds later, I glanced to the right side of the road. YOU GUESSED IT....Doe, a deer, a female deer. She was super cute with white spots. I needed a good laugh and apparently the Lord saw fit to send it in the form of wildlife. :) I'm soo thankful for His blessings at the end of loooooong days.  And I am praying that He never sees fit to send me...
A) Possums
B) Snakes
C) Lizards
D) Grasshoppers and/or locusts
E) Bats
F) Red-winged blackbirds

He could, however, send a cute calf.  I know this is going to sound totally absurd to you, but since this is my blog and you are stalking ME...well, I would kind of like a calf.  Now I know that it's going to grow up and be a huge cow...but calves are just delightful!!!  I love it when they want to suck on your fingers.  And their noses are soft and pink.  Oh - and something else I would love...little chicks.  I'm aware that having chickens requires work and they are stinky and messy.  When I was a kid, our neighbors had chickens and several times I was called upon to go gather the eggs.  I remember being terrified of pulling the warm eggs out from under the chickens.  Chicks and calves....hmmmm...I'd also kind of like a huge garden.  I realize that if I did up and move to a farm that I would more than likely have to turn in my Engineering Secretary hat and done a cute straw hat and a gingham sundress...which I could totally pull off.  I love the country, don't you?  I mean - you can drive 45 miles per hour and not be caught up in the rat-race of city life.  You can walk through the grass barefoot (well, watch out for those snakes!) and just enjoy being.  You see, you can take the girl out of the country....but, my friends, you cannot take the country out of the girl.  Oh my -- where was I?

Once I arrived at home, I sent off a cheery text informing my friend of what had happened AGAIN.  She had a novel idea...why not listen to the Music Man...too which I counter-offered, Fiddler on the Roof"Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match..."  I shall get the soundtrack from the bibliotecca tomorrow.  I love Fiddler on the Roof.  Did you know that the very first time I had ever seen that musical was 4 years ago with my dear friend, Trudy?  How is it that I was an adult before I had ever seen it?  It all goes back to the post where I confessed (and now you know it to be 100% true), I don't get out much.  :)

Tootles.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
