"I've said it before and I'll say it again, I hate hearing knitters say they're afraid to try things in knitting. I know this is a remarkable statement for someone who lives an entire life based on the sport, but hear this: It's only knitting. One of the beautiful things about it is that (as long as you don't leave needles lying around), it's not dangerous. Leap on! Be afraid of bears, of bungee-jumping, of faulty wiring in old houses, but never, ever be afraid of trying something in knitting. Wool is reusable, your mistakes are your own, they can all be fixed, and nobody dies or is fired when you make them. It's only knitting, and it's one of the few times in your life when there are no bad consequences to a mistake." ~ Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, Knitting Rules!
Sooooooo I did it!!! I bought circular knitting needles!!! I know that I have been talking and talking about buying these needles and I finally did it! It was a rather invigorating evening. The clerk at Michael's asked me if I found everything I was looking for...I replied, "Yes! I have feeling these knitting needles are going to change my life!"
Well, I started on my top secret knitting project tonight. It's for Christmas and it's for someone who stalks my blog. Sooo enough said. :) I must confess -- these circular needles are going to take some getting used too.
Today was a BIG day at work... I had to chase down a lady today. Honestly chasing this elderly lady and her husband was the most excitement I had all day. Granted - I am not complaining!!! It was a nice, quiet day. I think it was the rain and the fact that today was Monday.
Did the rain today make you cold? I was freezing cold sitting in my cubicle at work. Oh how I wished I would've brought my fleece blanket to work with me. The rhythm of the rain added to the morose-ness (is that a word?) of the day. Today was a good stay-in-your-jammies-and-watch-Anne-of-Green-Gables-while-consuming-massive-quantities-of-hot-chocolate!!! (sigh)
But alas, someone had to go play the role of Engineering Secretary...and it might as well have been ME!
Happy Monday!
