At work today, there was quite a bit of air traffic. And on my lunch, I noticed several Air Force planes coming and going over my place of employment. You see -- we are right in line with the runway of the Rockford Airport.
Sooo imagine planes landing every 20 - 30 minutes...
The names have been changed to protect the innocent.
Meredith: "Do you ever think about how soon it will be before..." (Pauses and tries to conjure up the wording for the end of the sentence.)
Angelina: "Martians will attack us?"
Meredith: "Nooo...."
Angelina: "A plane will mis-judge the runway and crash into our building?"
Meredith: "Yes -- and no to the Martians but yes to the plane crash."
Angelina: "Sometimes...especially today because there are alot of planes..."
Meredith: "I think it could happen."
Angelina: "I cannot believe this is what we are talking about...at work!"
Meredith: "It's what we do. It's the afternoon. We need a little mental vay-cay!"
