Apparently yesterday, I said repeatedly, "I don't understand." I must've used that voice that conveys the fact that I really didn't understand because today...around 9:45, I said outloud, "I just don't understand." Too which my co-worker replied, "Ooooh no. It's going to be a repeat of yesterday."
When asked, she said, "Yesterday was rough for you. You didn't understand much."
The truth of the matter is -- I really did UNDERSTAND....I just couldn't wrap my brain around the notion that...
A. people were calling and not comprehending what I was telling them.
B. I was struggling to comprehend why they weren't comprehending.
Repeat A & B several more times.
It was very surreal.
Today I caught myself every single time I wanted to say, "I don't understand." At the end of the day, though, I had the privilege of saying and meaning, "I don't understand. It's not like NASA is calling saying, 'Welcome to the Rocket Scientist Program!' NASA isn't going to call. They need to give up the dream!"
And that is how I ended my very bizarre sort-of Wednesday. Well...technically it ended with a large cup of decaf tea while I watched Rhonda sew a button on her coat before we ventured to Bible Study. What a great way to end the day...tea, a friend, and Bible Study! Bring on the rest of the "I don't understand" sort of week... That's it!!!! Maybe this whole week is going to be "off" for me. Maybe this is a seven day journey into my land of not understanding. There should be a welcoming committee...and maybe they should have muffins and fresh-brewed coffee. Wouldn't that be nice? It's just rude that they didn't plan ahead for my visit. Maybe THEY don't understand...and they didn't know I was coming...
Whatever the reason...here's hoping that tomorrow is full of more understanding...
