This week started off with the ringing in of a new year -- 2012 -- and the recovery from a teen overnighter...followed by a fun day of thrifting, lunch, & laughter with Ruthie on Monday. It's lovely that the New Year's holiday fell on a Sunday and that I had the blessing of having Monday off as we observed the new year.
Tuesday...nothing exciting -- work and then the gym. It was nice being back in a routine.
Wednesday -- work and then nursery duty. Thankfully the little guy that I spent an hour with has learned to love me. Who would've thunk? I said to the other nursery worker, "Remember when he would just cry and cry and I told you, 'He will never like me!'" She replied that yes, she did recall my speech lamenting the dislike of one little blue-eyed boy. We both rejoiced in our new-found friendship. Personally, I think for the little fellow, the turning-point in our "relationship" was the night I gave him Goldfish crackers until he could eat no more. Food...works like a charm. :)
Today -- Thursday -- work all day and then a meeting of the minds at our local coffee establishment where we discussed a plethora of topics. The girls at the table were reminded, "What's said at the table -- stays at the table!" And then I proceeded to ramble on and on.... They (the girls) already knew what has taken me awhile to figure out. They are bright, those Starbuck's stars in my life. :) I like that Ruthie referred to us as her "Starbuck's stars" -- I love that our friendship is like that...give and take...but we always, always, always put our perspective in the proper place -- the Lord. I'm blessed by their friendship.
Tomorrow -- Friday -- (drumroll, please)...I, Angie Good, was invited out to supper at Panera and then pedicures with Ginger...where we shall make another memory...and you know what? Even if we have a moment (or two or three) where we cannot fight the tears of sadness, I know it's going to be okay. She has imprinted something so wonderful on my heart -- a bit of herself...and I will treasure her friendship for forever. (On a side note -- I cannot wait to share with you what fun little bag o'Gingerness that I have put together.)
Happy almost-pedicure Friday to me! And Happy - Happy Friday to You!!!!
