It's been for-ev-er since I have the pleasure of having coffee with Trudy. For-ev-er as in since....hmmmm...June/July. Wow -- that would be half a year ago....that's just not right. It's not right at all. Granted - Trudy and I have chatted on the phone...but let's be honest, it's not the same as sitting down and enjoying each other's presence.
Imagine my joy when I saw that I had a missed call AND a voicemail from Trudy...I promptly returned her call after I happily punched-out from work yesterday. The question was posed, "Do you want to meet for coffee tonight?" Ummmmmmmm....is my hair curly? "YES!!!!"
A time and location was agreed upon. 6:00 p.m. - meeting at Meg's Daily Grind. I'm fairly certain Meg's was our coffeehouse of choice because...
A. They have a fireplace. :)
B. The small tables are cozy and intimate.
C. They have FABULOUS coffee that's not "burnt" like Starbucks.
I like to think of Starbucks as my morning cup o'coffee....but Meg's is where I want to be when I want to conversate and just enjoy being. :)
We met promptly at 6:00 p.m. and stayed until they kicked-us-out. It was such a delightful 2-1/2 hours. We caught up...we laughed...we encouraged one another... Oh, how I love spending time with Trudy. She's good for my soul. She draws me closer to the Lord. She was such an encouragement about a particular issue. Her sincerity and her honesty...I thanked the Lord the entire way back to the cottage.
Before we left, we scheduled another coffee date. You see, we realize the importance of spending this quality time together. We need this! I am thankful that the Lord made us relational...and He gave me the most wonderful Godly friends a girl could ever ask for. :)
