Picture for mi madre :)

Using size 13 circular knitting needles and an entire skein of Loops & Threads Country Loom Nobility yarn, I knitted this fabulous cowl for my friend Ginger.  I love how the yarn is a trifecta of colors - old fashioned Eyeore-ish (I suppose I could've used the word vintage before Eyeore's name!) purple, dark magenta, and almost a gray-ish color.

I have to admit that using circular knitting needles scared me...frightened me...for the longest time.  But once I realized just how absurd this fear was -- I mean REALLY...afraid of knitting needles?  What was the worst that would happen?  Ooooh (sarcastic and mocking my fear), I would mess up and have to what?  Remove the knitting from the needles and start over?  Good grief, I am crazy.  They are knitting needles.

I waited until they were on sale and picked up the proper size...found the perfect Ginger-ish yarn...and began to create a cowl which, like her friendship, would be warm and cozy and remind her of her bestie in Rockford.

The pattern I choose was a ribbed cowl.  You have to look close to see the ribbing.  Too establish the ribbing (for you wonderful non-knitters who are reading my blog), you knit four rows the same and then knit the following four rows the opposite.  Basically you want it to be a row of knitting, a row of purling, a row of knitting, a row of purling, and so on and so forth.  :)

So there you have it!
