And you know what...it's actually ok. Last year, I was hurt by their lack of thoughtfulness. They attempted to redeem themselves with a "Thank You" card on the following day...but it's just not sincere if you miss the actual day. (Just sayin'...)
Today's lack of remembrance gave me pause to remember my former boss, Eric, who never once forgot about me Administrative Professionals Day. Who was kind enough to always thank me for my hard work and my good attitude. Who went so far as to nominate me for a prestigious company award... I would like to give a SHOUT out to his wife who helped remind him. :)
Today I said to my favorite co-worker, "I'm really ok that you guys forgot about today. You see, I had a boss this one time that was sooo wonderful and thoughtful and I realize now just how blessed I was."
It's good to remember. It's good to thank the Lord for those in our past who helped mold and shape us into the individuals that we are today.
