Esther

Last week, I started working through a new Bible study by Elizabeth George.  The study is through the book of Esther.  Basically I am currently on lesson #3.  This is one of those studies that requires some time and study -- which I love about Elizabeth's book studies.

Tonight at choir practice, we worked on the song "For Such A Time As This" by Ron Hamilton and Cheryl Reid.  I love that we are working on this song while I am studying through the book of Esther.  God's timing is absolutely perfect -- and the fact that He knew this song would be such an encouragement to me...ME!  The girl with curly hair.  I'm absolutely more smitten with Him.  He has a wonderful plan for my life -- a life that I am living right now...not a life that will begin with such-and-such happens...NO!  It's right now.  He's showing me His perfect will and it's soo exciting.

I hope this song is an encouragement to you!  We are singing it the week of our revival meetings at church (April 22nd through 27th) if you'd like to hear it live.

For Such A Time As This
by Ron Hamilton & Cheryl Reid

In the ancient days of Persia,
In the palace of the King,
Lived a Jewish maid named Esther,
Who would rise to be the Queen.
With a meek and quiet spirit,
She found favor in God's sight.
And the God she loved exalted her
By His grace and might

Chorus
For such a time as this
Our God has made us strong!
And now we lift His banner high!
We must battle sin and wrong!
We will stand for truth and right,
We will boldly face each task.
Our God has blessed and raised us up
For such a time as this.

Wicked Haman hated Mordecai
So he sought to kill the Jews.
And it looked like he would prosper
'Til Queen Esther heard the news.
Then she cried to God for mercy
And she went before the King.
Ester pleaded for her people's lives -
Risking everything.

Still today the lord is searching
For some heroes of the faith
Who will stand with strength and courage
In a war that must be waged.
Every blessing we've been given
Has a price we're called to pay.
God desires a living sacrifice -
Pledge your life today.

(Chorus)

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
