Yesterday
I scrolled through my old blog posts back to a year ago…2011. June 2011.
It seems like a lot has happened in the last 365 days. Not a lot as in BIG things…but little things…and
isn’t that what life is made up of? Little
moments that take your breath away bringing a smile to your ridiculously cute face. :)
I was thinking...it’s good to remember. In remembering, we realize that God was with
us in those past moments, comfort to know He will be with us in our present
moments, and resting in the fact that He will be there (UNCHANGING AND
FAITHFUL) in the future. What comfort
and assurance!!!
Someone
very dear to me has been on my mind…in my thoughts…pressing in on my heart…they
are only able to remember the past moments.
The funny memories, the heart-to-heart chats, the lectures, the quiet
times…they won’t be able to share in present moments nor future…I hope and pray
that they are remembering in a way that helps their sad heart.
As I was
reading in my devotions this morning, I stumbled upon this nugget of truth and
I want to share it…
Hebrews
13:5
“Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with
such things as ye have: for He
hath said, ‘I
will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.’”
I was
encouraged…
My speech
(and I believe thoughts) is to be without covetousness! But then read the last part of the verse...
I can be
content with what I have and as I wait…because
He, Jesus, said that He will never leave me NOR forsake me. No matter how many times I fail Him (because
I do fail Him)…He will be there. He will
be faithful.
