The votes (all two them) have been cast. This recipe is definitely a KEEPER!!!!
Funny story regarding lunch ----> My favorite co-worker asked me, "What's the scoop on lunch? What do I need to know?"
I must insert here that I did not obtain eye contact. I allowed him to continue typing on his computer when I answered him. (My mistake!) NOTE TO SELF: Establish eye contact.
Me: "In the Pyrex dish in the crisper, there are 4 small pieces of salmon. You may eat 2 or 3 of the pieces. Just save me atleast 1."
Favorite: "Ok."
SECOND NOTE TO SELF: At this point, I should've confirmed my instructions by having his verbalize what I had said instead of accepting the "ok" reply.
Approximately 12:15, my office phone rings. I glance at caller id -- yes, we have that. I see that it's the administration lunch room.
Favorite: "ANGIE -- 3 MINUTES WAS TOO LONG! I KILLED THE SALMON! IT IS ALL OVER THE MICROWAVE! IT BLEW UP!!!!"
Me: "Three minutes? I never said microwave it for 3 minutes. What in the world? It only needs less than a minute."
Favorite: "How long are you going to microwave yours for?"
Me: "Ummmm...I eat my salmon cold because I'm fabulous."
Favorite: "Ok, I will turn the oven off since (he then mocks me) I eat my salmon cold because I'm fabulous."
Me: "You have fun cleaning the microwave!" (insert laughter before hanging-up the phone)
After he finishes cleaning said microwave, he says, "For the next 6 months, I feel bad for the people that use the microwave. Their lunches are going to taste fishy."
I finally figured out how he misinterpreted what I said....he wasn't listening. (Do I need to be that obvious or can the story tell you that without my putting it in writing?) He only heard 3 when I said, "You may eat 2 or 3 pieces..."
Lesson learned -- must obtain eye contact and make them repeat the directions.
The end.
