Bryan told me, "I can't believe you did that, Sis! You are wonderful!" Too which I replied, "I had some sneaky helpers so you will need to thank a couple other people too." :) Bry concurred.
After work, I went to pick up tickets to RVC's Starlight production of Little Women. We will be seeing the play on Friday evening. Have I mentioned that I love Starlight and I am super excited about going to the musical??? Well, in case you have missed it...I AM SUPER EXCITED!!! I finished reading Little Women last month. I have Little Men on my Nook but I have yet to read it. I managed to find another author in the meantime, so I am reading book #2 in a trio. Awwww 2/3 of a trio... I'm just 1/3 of a trio. I miss the other 2/3.
When I arrived at Rock Valley College, I had 6 minutes to locate the Ticket Office. Now, having been to Starlight before, I just assumed it was the ticket window near the theater. WRONG! On my way back to Rosie, I vowed to call the office first thing and get exact directions. Somewhere between the sidewalk and Rosie, I turned to my left and saw a sign "Ticket Office" with an arrow pointing to the left. I suppose I should interject here that I was NOT wearing gym shoes. I was not wearing high heels but I was not wearing gym shoes. I managed to make it to the Ticket Office with LITERALLY 1-1/2 minutes to spare. The kid (I now call college students "kids.") behind the counter typed in all my information and then handed me six tickets.
Meanwhile, my cell phone rang my text message notification. (The chime is a group of people saying, "Coffeeeeeeee!" in a sing-songy kinda voice.) The text message sender invited me to a frozen treat at the Red Mango. Awwww...how can you say "no" to a message inviting you to (and I quote) "frozen yo"!!! The invite was semi-gangsta and for a frozen treat.
After a frozen lemonade + raspberry + dark chocolate conglomeration, I had to make my way to the gym. Did I want to? NOPE. Was I feeling the love of the elipptical? NOPE. Why did I go? Ummmm...the bowl containing the frozen mixture was not the small size. That's all I am going to say about that.
Today, I looked up the word "Rain" on Bible Gateway's website. It brought up 96 references. I did my devotions on those verses. God brought rain when it was desperately needed. I was reminded, too, that it never rained in the Garden of Eden.
Yesterday, I put a pink envelope in the mail which was addressed to Emma Kate. Inside the envelope was a cute daisy notecard with a little note from Fun Angie. Inside the notecard was some confetti. We have a binding system at work that we punch multi-colored cardstock with.
Last Friday, I had a brilliant epiphany -- the little pieces caught in that tray underneath would make great confetti!!! Since we aren't doing secret pals in our ladies Bible study group, I had to pick my next victim...er, uh...friend to send this surprise confetti too! Emma won mostly because she's adorable and I know she will have something funny to say about the confetti on Saturday when I spend some time with her and her little brother.
Earlier today, I felt kinda bad for like 0.4 seconds so I texted Sara and asked (sheepishly, if you can even text someone sheepishly), "Did EK get her card today?"
20 minutes and no reply.
Next text from Fun Angie: "Can you not here your text message notification chime because you are running the vacuum?"
Another 20 minutes no reply.
Later in the evening: "Curt was the one who had to deal with the confetti. LOL!" Is it wrong that I laughed outloud too?
The end.
