Confessional at 10:30 p.m. :)

I had a feeling I would have a difficult time falling asleep tonight...(sigh).  Of the last 55 hours or so (since Sunday 3-ish), I think I've slept 40+ of those hours.  Not peaceful slumber...but slumber nonetheless.  So, here it is 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening and I am pretty much wide awake.

I get to go to work tomorrow and I am super excited about drinking a cup of coffee in the morning.  You see, for the past two mornings, the coffee nearly killed me.  One sip and I had to put my mug in the sink and turn off Mr. Coffee before heading back to bed.  It's a tragedy.  The coffee swirling in my stomach this morning helped me come to the conclusion, no, I was not ready to return to work...well, that plus the wooziness.  It was dreadful so you are not going to find me complaining about this lack of sleep because just between us -- I've slept enough the past 3 days.  For real.

I'm quite looking forward to work tomorrow which is a plus and how I know that I am on the mend.  Yesterday and even today, thoughts of driving my car actually scared me.  I wasn't in my right mind to steer a 2,000+ piece of metal down the road.  I honestly don't think I could've made my 20 minute commute - especially Monday.

I'm hoping to fall into a deep slumber now that my neighbors (and I use that term loosely as I don't believe it's the people directly next door but maybe somewhere in the vicinity of the 'hood) are not shooting off firecrackers.  Some people cannot bid farewell to the 4th of July.  I mean, don't get me wrong -- I am all for YEAH INDEPENDENCE DAY!  But come on now...it's been 6 days.  Put away the firecrackers.  Stop exploding things.

They have ceased so now maybe I can enjoy some peaceful slumber.

Goodnight!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
