James 1:6-8

James 1:6
"But let him ask in faith [for wisdom, see verse 5], nothing wavering..."  Wait...NOTHING WAVERING?!?!  This caught my attention...nothing wavering.  What in the world does wavering me?  I thought of swaying or not being set on a particular course...kind of like a split in the road and you him-and-haw not sure which way to go.  Since I wasn't sure if my interpretation of "nothing wavering" was accurate and I wanted to know the true meaning for this...I used www.Dictionary.com - wavering means to become unsteady, to show fear or doubt.  Under the Thesaurus tab, some synonyms for waver are:  Being irresolute, blow hot & cold, fluctuate, hesitate, and the list goes on and on.  Underneath the synonyms, the website says:  "Waiver is a relinquishment of a claim, privilege, or right."  Isn't that true?  When we waiver, we are not having full faith in God which is a privilege being His child.

Back to verse 6...
"...for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

Verse 7
"For let not that man thinketh that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

Verse 8
"A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."
