We had church, a potluck, and then an afternoon service...thus condensing the entire day into back-to-back services with a lunch fellowship in-between. I love these smooshed Sundays.
Oh, I suppose I should let you know -- the rain -- the gray cloud post from last night -- that rain shower never happened. We really, really, really need the rain. My friend Ginger (from Seattle) said she will bottle up some of their rain and send it our way if we promise to bottle up some warmer weather and ship it to Seattle. It's amazing to me that in one part of the country (the great Northwest), they are getting rain daily; while we in the Midwest are in a drought.
Yesterday while running errands, I couldn't help but notice (with great alarm) the tan/khaki colored yards. It seems like every 4th or 5th yard was green which made quite a stark contrast to the khaki yards.
The front that brought the clouds and thunder (sans rain), also, brought with it cooler temps. Yeah!!! The humidity has calmed down and it's not nearly as scorching hot today...for which the girl with straightened hair is thankful.
I am suffering from a peculiar sort of headache. It's not a full blown headache...it's mild. I am fairly certain (because of it's pain and location) that it's from consuming something that I should not have...a faux sweetener or maybe even gluten. It's not much fun having a headache on a sunny day...much less a headache on a rainy day. I tolerate rainy day headaches better than sunny day headaches. (Sigh.)
After today's services, I went to Logli's and purchased strawberries. I only...I repeat...I ONLY shop Logli's for their produce section. I am not a fan of the rest of their store. Is that weird? They are much more pricey than Woodman's and their selection is not even comparable. Today, however, I managed to save a dollar per carton of strawberries. Have I told you how much I love strawberries? Ummmm...and blueberries and blackberries and raspberries..and pretty much every other kind of berry? :) I do. I love them. I, Angie Good, am smitten with summer berries. And since I am going to spend the next 12 months eating only fruits and veggies that are in season, I am going to eat as many strawberries as I can. The other day, I figured that if I eat a 16-ounce carton of strawberries everyday for the entire summer, I still would not have consumed my body weight in them. I was kinda hoping that would be the case. There's always next summer. Can you imagine what a BERRY-LICIOUS summer that would be????
I wish you could feel my heart going pitter-patter.
