I'm not a huge fan of running the air conditioning 24/7. I like fresh air. And I particularly love sleeping with the windows open. You know how in the spring and fall, it gets chilly at night so you snuggle down under the covers? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THAT!!!! And when it's not spring and fall, I miss it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
Today the air conditioning is running (for which I am thankful) and I am actually chilly. I have it set at 73 or 74 degrees. If I raise it to 75 or 76, it gets too humid in the cottage...any colder and it will be SWEATER WEATHER!!!! Sooo how do I stay comfortable in this "coolness" --> decaf coffee, my pale yellow summery blanket, and a book. I've told you time and time again...I'm a simple sorta gal. I'm not high maintenance. I like quiet, relaxing days at the cottage and today is no exception. :)
My holiday actually began last night....I worked-out with Rhonda and then casually suggested that we should take our fabulous-selves to the Red Mango. It took all of 0.3 seconds for us to decide to go. It was a party in my mouth!!! Peanut butter in half of the bowl and raspberry in the other side. Both flavors topped with semi-sweet dark chocolate mini-chips and fresh raspberries. Again -- simple sorta gal...frozen yogurt and my friend.
After the Red Mango and since I was close proximity, I headed to the red bull's eye to find some Fourth of July-ish nail polish...30 minutes later, I left with blue and red nail polish. (I believe there is a previous post displaying my patriotic toes!)
Called Seattle and chit-chatted with my bestie and her lovely 12-year old Meghan!!!
And to complete my Tuesday...I popped in one of Sandra Bullock's finest movies, Miss Congeniality. The first time I ever saw this movie was the weekend before I graduated from college. My three besties -- Tanya, Mandy, and Lisa -- were all in Pensacola to hang-out with me and my family and celebrate my convocating. :) Don't you love inside jokes? Why is is that you attend a graduation ceremony to see someone graduate but you don't attending a convocation ceremony to see people convocate?
Because the chick flick movie night escapades...I chose to sleep-in this morning until 6:45. Upon arising from my slumber, I determined that today was a good day to head to the gym early before the heat of the day would overcome and conquer the interior temperature at the gym. I wish they would set the thermostat lower...because some days, it's unbearable in there. Most days I leave with some seriously frizzed-out hair...and I go running for the cottage hoping not to see anyone I know. Why is it that I can run in to Target a gazillion times, but the one time I don't have on any make-up and crazy hair that's the time I see someone I know and/or have a crush on????
After the gym and throwing caution to the wind, I went to Woodman's. Guess what? I didn't see anyone I know!!!!! Or the flipside, maybe people that knew me turned and ran the other way?
I finished reading Double Shot by Erynn Mangum. Excellent read!!! It's the third in the Maya trifecta...so sadly I am done reading about Maya's life. I think I am going to take a couple of days and only read my Bible. I need to bid farewell to Maya's story...(sigh.)
And now here it is 6 p.m. The sun is still shining and it's still hot outside. This girl is not going anywhere tonight. I'm not a huge fan of fireworks and being around crazies. Two years ago I went downtown for the fireworks...that was enough. I'm content.
Happy 4th of July!!!
