Tomorrow...August 26th...

Soooo awhile ago, my friend Leah and I decided that we would spend an entire day together doing fun things that we've talked about always wanting to do.  Well, friends, tomorrow is that day.  Let me say that again...

TOMORROW IS THAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are beginning our day with coffee...as every perfect day should begin!  Can I get an "Amen" from my blog-stalking peeps?

Our second stop...it's a surprise.  Bummer for you 'cause I bet you wanted to know.  No worries, I am promising to take pictures tomorrow.  We are going to be sooo touristy that other Rockfordians are going to be jealous.  We might even make the news.  Not in a bad, we're-wearing-orange-jumpsuits sort-of way.  Don't get me wrong, I think Leah and I would look lovely in burnt orange...but that orange-orange of the jumpsuits is not good for either of our skin tones.  Plus then you have those bad pictures.  No one ever smiles in the Crime Stoppers' pictures.  (sigh)

Anyway...our second stop - TOTALLY TOP SECRET!  I mean, I know what it is.

The other places on our list...
Chocolat by Daniel - a local chocolate shop.  I saw on his website -- he has a truffle that's infused (LOVE THAT WORD) with coffee.  Ummmmmm 1 word for him....BLISS.

Anderson Japanese Gardens - they have rules posted online.  Garden Ettiquette.  We cannot play or climb on things.  Oh and no food or drinks.  I guess we will not be carrying $1 iced coffee from Red Mango.

Nicholas Conservatory

And anywhere else our little hearts desire...

What's the most amazing thing about this whole Thursday adventure...we planned this day out outing about a month ago and narrowed down our date last week.  God knew that I needed tomorrow off even before I did.  He, also, knew that I needed to spend it with Leah.

Leah has been such a blessing in my life...even yesterday.  God sent her and her mom to Hobby Lobby, of all the places....at the exact time when I would be there...just a few minutes after I received some news that has the potential to be life-changing...  God sent Leah and Ruthie to a craft store when I would be there because He knew that I needed to see friends who love me and who would offer a hug and love and encouragement.  (I'm pretty sure that was a run-on sentence!)

God is good.  He cares about the little details in our lives.  He cares about us.  And tomorrow He is allowing me a wonderful day with my dear friend...a day to make fun memories.  :)

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
