Coming unglued isn't all that bad... :)

Soo I am nearing the end of Lysa's book, Unglued.  In the chapter titled:  It's Not All Bad, the premise of this chapter is that coming unglued is not all bad because it brings us to a point of brokenness.  Lysa shares about our response to these tricky, unglued-ish situations...

"Precious sister, this isn't easy, but it is good.  It's a crucial part of our imperfect progress.  With each of these types of encounters, we are given an opportunity to put on display that Jesus is the Lord of our hearts and the Lord of our reactions.  Therefore we must remember that Jesus teaches:  'Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.' (Romans 12:14)"

Just a few sentences later, she writes:

"To do this, we must dare to pray for authentic hearts.  Not that we we welcome the critical person into our inner circle and start doing life together.  But it is a rare and beautiful thing when we choose to offer love in a situation when most people would choose to scorn or ignore.

Dare to pray for an overwhelming sense of God's love - not love for the ugliness that has come from this person but love for the soul God created within them.  She or he belongs to God.  He loves them.  He treasures them even when He doesn't approve of their actions.  He treasures us even when He doesn't approve of our actions.  Thanks be to God!"  ~ Pages 180, 181
