Well, apparently the blue net and/or my crazy, frightened state scared said shelled one and he ducked down in to the filter.  I'm fairly certain he has perished...as I do not believe one could survive being sucked into the filtration system and returning to the known world.  I went and informed my co-worker (who has been the go-to-guy when it comes to fish/turtle issues)...I believe my exact words were, "I believe a turtle has perished and I am the cause of his/her demise.  At 2, I will be holding a funeral with light refreshments afterward.  Be at the pond at 2."  Another co-worker eaves-dropping made mention of black cloths being draped around the rocks.  What a thoughtful gesture.  You just never know what a day will hold...
