I left the cottage at 8:45 and picked up a dozen farm-fresh eggs at Leah's egg place. (I think it will forever and always be "Leah's egg place" as she is the one who introduced me to the egg place on Lyford Road.)
Aren't these just lovely? This is how farm-fresh eggs are supposed to look...not like the uniform white eggs in the store. I will not go on an egg rant. I will not go on an egg rant. I will not...
After the egg stop, I went and picked-up a white chocolate mocha for my favorite hair artist -- I call her an "artist" because she can work wonders with my curls. :) And what says "Merry Christmas. I appreciate you and your ability to give me great hair days!!!!!!!!!!!" like a grande hot coffee beverage and a hand-knitted dish cloth.
I sat down in Missy's spinning chair and realized that this stop - my blessed haircut - was my last scheduled event for the day. It's funny that I had nothing else planned after 9:45 a.m. What a wonderful feeling.
My new cellphone has sync-ed my blog pictures and my Facebook pictures sooo I was able to show Missy the exact haircut I wanted. It's from 2-years ago when she initially chopped my hair and taught me the art of straightening it. What a life-changing day!!!
30 minutes later, I left with a great haircut. It's amazing to me how she just knows what I want done with my hair...and then she does it. And I get to leave feeling like a million bucks without having to shell-out a million bucks. It's magical.
After the haircut, there was a quick stop to Target and Michael's to purchase more supplies to make one more batch of sugar scrub. In Target and thanks to Google, I learned that you can pretty much use any type of oil to make the sugar scrub. I found a blended with three different oils bottle of oil!!! Soybean, sunflower, and canola. It was quite reasonable. At Michael's, I purchased lavender essential oil.
Upon arriving at the cottage, I turned on Christmas music and worked on some last minute crafted gifts. Two bundles of hand-stamped cards for two very sweet little girls. A jar of lavender sugar scrub for their mom. And lastly a knitted scarf for the recipient of the Scarf of the Month club.
After the January scarf was made - and since the Christmas movie wasn't over - I found an extra purple skein of yarn (it's chunky yarn) and began knitting a simple scarf. Using size 17 needles, cast on 14 and knit to the end of the yarn. I'm probably halfway done. I have a couple other leftover skeins from last year...so I might knit myself silly.
In-between the knitting and Christmas movie watching and stamping, I did sneak away for an hour to the gym. I hadn't been since Tuesday. (Sigh.) I needed to go to the gym. It wasn't fun going by myself, but I was the sole elliptical-ing girl which can only mean one thing -- bye, bye ESPN and hello TBS!!!!
It seems to me that when I am forced to work-out without my gym peeps and the television is set to ESPN, it always seems that those particular work-outs take doubly long. I have no desire to watch football. 1st in 10...I could care less. Touchdown Schmunchdown. Field goal? Big deal. I could kick a football through those prongy devices that stick out of the ground. I mean seriously - how difficult is that??? I'm pretty sure my Sunday school kids could kick a field goal. Seriously!!!
I don't like football. I've tried to watch it. I'd rather have my teeth drilled. I'd rather have bamboo rammed underneath my fingernails. Speaking of fingernails, I'd rather get a manicure.
Tomorrow after church I am heading to my brother's house. Confession: I've not packed a single thing. Infact, where is my suitcase? Goodness. The beauty of going to Bry's for 2 sleeps (staying 2 nights) is that I won't have to pack much...and he lives close enough to Target so if I forget anything, I can just purchase it there.
I wonder what we are going to do while I am there. We would like to see our Grandma Dee and possibly head to Defiance, Ohio on Tuesday to see our uncle, aunt, and cousins. :) I will pack my camera!!!
