Tonight after work, I was on a mission to find Eyebright herbs. It took two stops until said herbs could be procured.
When I went to leave Nutrition Works and make a left on East Riverside, the snow was frantically a-flying. Visibility was dreadful. All I could think was it's snowing on a Tuesday. Of course, it snowing today because I am supposed to have sewing class. I'm going to perish in the name of crafting!!! I'm weird. I know.
I did an As-Seen-On-TV maneuver...I made a right and then did a U-turn at the first crossover-ish piece of pavement. It wasn't illegal. There wasn't a sign that said "No U-turn." Those signs and the sign that says "blah-blah-blah-authorized vehicles only" make me laugh outloud and remind me of a former co-worker, Joey. He would always say, "I authorized myself to make the U-turn." I had never thought of that before. Genius! No worries though - I'm often a big chicken when it comes to self-authorization of anything remotely dangerous.
Where was I? Oh yes, leaving and the snow. It was snowing something crazy outside.
I made my way down Perryville to Starbucks and had a $2 cup of Calm tea. I figured I needed whatever gluten-free goodness was inside the Tazo tea. It was a small pleasure as I waited the 40 minutes until sewing.
At 5:50, I put away my knitting and headed to sewing class.
Tonight I cut out my fabric and used a serger. Have you ever used one? It's a monster sewing machine with a knife. It has 4 threads and this knife that hems the edge while slicing off the extra material. It's amazing and I'm pretty sure going to find its way on to my Christmas wish list.
About 8:15, I was mentally done with sewing so I sat and watched the others sew. One girl is working on super cute owl flannel jammie pants. She's going to be done by next week. This makes me want to get going on my skirt because I could make 2 projects!!!!
Another girl is making a cute gathered top with rick rack around the neckline. Another lady is making a dress for baby. It's purple and girlie. The mother and daughter team are making jammie pants and an apron, respectively.
And then there's me - I'm making a double layered skirt.
Next week we have 2 sewing classes to make up for one of the three we've missed thus far... :)
