Two classes left

I have two sewing classes left.  Tomorrow night and next Tuesday.  I'm kind of sad to see the class come to an end -- but happy to have my Tuesday nights free again.  I'm fickle like that.  :)  You love me and my fickleness...lest you wouldn't take time to stalk my blog and read the crazy notions of the girl with curly hair.

Speaking of curly hair - and then I promise to get back to the sewing post - Today I straightened my hair...mostly because I just got my hair cut and when I saw it curling up this morning, I thought to myself, This might scare my co-workers.  A round brush, blow-dryer and Behaved hair gunk and I was the girl with straight-flipped-up hair.  I like being that girl.  :)

Any-whooooooo...
I completed the infinity scarves (and truth-be-told, I've made two more...both birthday presents so I can't post pictures) and I needed to choose a new project.  I'm not completely sure I'm ready to tackle making a dress...although the pattern does say "Easy."  Easy-Schmeezy.... [Insert laughter.]

I opted for a summery top.  It's gathered at the neckline and has a cute belt.  I don't do belts.  Infact if Sara is reading this, I hope she sat down before reading the belt comment...lest she might've fainted or wondered if her bestie has been abducted by some belt-lovin' Martians.  It's not the case, Sara.  It's me.  Angie Good.  "Fun Angie" to your children.

(Top "F" is the solid blue top - bottom righthand corner.)

The suggested fabric was chiffon and chiffon-like fabrics. Ummmm...can we say, "Hellooo twitch in my left eye"???  I will not make anything else out of chiffon...unless I really do develop a case of short term memory loss...at which point, I may forget and purchase more of that cheap, wretched fabric.  (Twitch now in both eyes!)

I wasn't sure which suggested fabric would be the easiest so I brought the pattern to work and asked my co-worker.  She suggested I get knit.  Never did I know that "laundered cotton" can be interpreted as knit or a cotton/knit blend.  She is a genius!!!!  And the eye twitching has ceased.

Hobby Lobby has a small selection of knit fabric so I went there and purchased 2-1/8 yards of white background with black scrolly-things and pinkish coral flowers.  Can you even imagine that in your head?  I will post a picture.  Promise!  I chose this fabric because I have a black skirt and a coral summery sweater.

Currently the fabric is in the dryer and I need to get my pattern cut out!!!

Tootles!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
