Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict

Soooooooooo I think it's safe to say - I love Jane Austen.  According to my GoodReads account, I've been SUPPOSEDLY reading Jane's Emma for the past 2 months.  I've not.  I picked-it up 2 months ago but then I found something else more exhilarating to read.  (Sigh.)  And now - I'm feeling kind of guilty about neglecting all things Jane-ish.

My problem is ---->  Although I love all of Jane's characters, I am completely head-over-heels smitten with Mr. Darcy.  I love the struggle between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.  I like that Mr. Darcy is lacking social skills and Elizabeth calls him on this!  Jane did a wonderful job with Lizzie's character.  Lizzie speaks her mind, which I imagine back in the day (Jane's day) was not as embraced as it is now.

Then there's Lizzie's sisters....and what about poor Charlotte Lucas?  She totally settled.  I wish I could send her the Pinterest pin -- "You're not the kind of girl that settles.  Keep NOT settling."

My Jane conundrum is...

Do I martyr-read Emma, hurrying through to finish, so I can pick up Pride & Prejudice

Do I delete Emma from my currently reading virtual bookshelf and move on like a sane person?

Emma who?  :)
