Have you ever heard someone say something "well-meaning" and you took it the wrong way? Puh-leez tell me that I am not the only one who has done this.
My co-worker was asking about my weekend plans and when I told him that I was going to Lake Geneva, he inquired, "Who are you going with?" Ummmm...myself. Just me. Well...and Rosie (my Corolla).
He would never ever, ever be hurtful but I took it that way. I heard WHAT he said and then I exaggerated that to mean - You ALWAYS have to go places alone because YOU ARE SINGLE! And from there, sadly, it digressed to lies.....and that creepy song, "Nobody likes me. Everybody hates me. I guess I'll go eat worms...." I won't eat worms but the rest of the lyrics rang true even though they were nothing but LIES!!!
I am beloved. I am child of God and He loves me more than any earthly human. Sometimes it takes a sweet note, a kind email, a heaven-focused song, and even a good cry to realize this.
P.S. I knew this was a struggle when I didn't even want to go to the gym and Target. :(
