Grammar



I love words.  I like learning new words.  The www.dictionary.com website has a Word of the Day.  Every day there’s a new word.  It’s absolutely fabulous.

I, also, like grammar.  I’m not sure if I love grammar like I love words…and dark chocolate…and coffee…and thrifting. 

Advanced Grammar (English 400) was pretty much all grammar with sentence diagramming and enjoyable journaling exercises. 

At the time, I did not realize how much I would appreciate Advanced Grammar.  Isn’t that the way God works?  He puts you through something that during the actual testing/trial, you think, I just want this to end.  I thought that about Advanced Grammar.  But in the end…I use Advanced Grammar nearly every single day. 

I was blessed with the task of typing legal documents today which typically are a snooze fest, but the particular documents that I was re-creating had words like hereinafter and heretofore and then there was a fun phrase “in lieu of.”

The trouble with typing these legal gems is my grammar-liking/loving brain diagrams the sentences as I type.  Have you ever read a legal document?  Oh my aching brain.  At some point during the typing, I had to shut-off the grammar part of my brain and just type the words.
