I love words. I like learning new words. The www.dictionary.com
website has a Word of the Day. Every day
there’s a new word. It’s absolutely
fabulous.
I, also, like
grammar. I’m not sure if I love grammar like I love words…and dark
chocolate…and coffee…and thrifting.
Advanced Grammar (English
400) was pretty much all grammar with sentence diagramming and enjoyable
journaling exercises.
At the time, I did not
realize how much I would appreciate Advanced Grammar. Isn’t that the way God works? He puts you through something that during the
actual testing/trial, you think, I just
want this to end. I thought that
about Advanced Grammar. But in the end…I
use Advanced Grammar nearly every single day.
I was blessed with the
task of typing legal documents today which typically are a snooze fest, but the
particular documents that I was re-creating had words like hereinafter and heretofore
and then there was a fun phrase “in lieu of.”
The trouble with typing
these legal gems is my grammar-liking/loving brain diagrams the sentences as I
type. Have you ever read a legal
document? Oh my aching brain. At some point during the typing, I had to
shut-off the grammar part of my brain and just type the words.
