"Hey! Look! It's the VD tree!!!!" said my co-worker.

Yep.  It's that time of year that every single person secretly loathes. 

A. It gets old hearing, "Why are YOU still single?"

B. Receiving advice such as "Have you thought to pray for a husband."  I have never ever slugged anyone.  This comment is slug-worthy.

C. "Maybe you should lower your standards."  Second slug-worthy comment.

I do not like Valentine's day.  Think about it - a dressed-up baby holding a bow and arrows.  Sounds like  a bad idea if you ask me.

A couple years ago, I stopped referring to February 14th as Valentine's day and reduced it to its simpler name...VD.  I am aware of what those initials mean medically.  I find VD befitting to a holiday  that makes single people feel awful.

In honor of VD, I have decorated my office tree with hearts and lovey-dovey ribbon. 

It makes me smile that the VD trend is catching on.  :)
