Thoughts on the annexation...

I must confess…the first time I heard about the annexation to the Engineering window, I was actually quite hurt.  Hurt that my co-worker(s) would blame me for their inability to produce quality work in a timely manner.  Seriously?  This would be like me blaming decaf coffee for my lack of personality.  Are you wondering, Does she drink decaf?  In the afternoons.  Only in the afternoons.  Well, sometimes in the mornings if I am feeling guilty about caffeine overload.  I’m a one-cupper.  Sometimes I’m a two-cupper.  Never ever over 2 cups.  Boundaries, people.  Plus I know me.  You know me.  No one wants to see Angie Good hopped-up on more than 2 cups of java.  I feel as though it would not be pretty.

So back to the annexation…
The annexers (pretty sure that’s a word) are now trying to be overly accommodating and friendly hoping that they can make-up to the annexees.

The beauty of being annexed is that this will create a new section of our department.  I’m calling our soon-to-be department, “Engineering 1A.”  One because we are number one!  And A because A is totally better than B.

Engineering 1A has established that on Fridays we will have treats!  Plus we are going to celebrate every ridiculous holiday from Benito Juarez birthday to Flag Day.

I have two ridiculous co-workers that when paired-up, they make up the “Dukes of Hazard” which involves them singing that theme song one day when I hurried through the automated gate and I made mention that I was in a hurry and thought, What would the Dukes of Hazard do?  Big mistake telling these two my thoughts.  Yesterday the Dukes informed 1/3 of the annexees that she should quote Gorbachev, “Tear down the wall!”  I’m going to find a picture of Gorby and frame it for her birthday because that’s funny.  I mean – FUNNY!!!

We are nearing the time of the annexing.  My cubicle walls will be extending 12 to 14 inches.  A partition will be put up between the window which will somewhat connect to my area.  Miss Window said she was going to make a giant curtain to cover her “cage” as she affectionately calls the annexation.  A curtain much like the Wizard of Oz.

Oh, how I love my ridiculous department…1A that is.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
