Day #3

Day #3 – Detailed description of my day

Is this not a typical Angie rambly blog post?  Sure!  Challenge accepted!!!

I was not prepared for the sound of my alarm at 5:25 this morning.  In my still-sleepy state, I reset my alarm to add another 15 minutes of remaining horizontal.  This is soo not typical me.  Normally I jump out of bed ready to take on the day but this morning was rough.  Perhaps it was because coffee was not wafting through the apartment.  You see, I purchase Califia’s Cold Brewed Mocha Coffee last night – a treat I do not often indulge in…but it just sounded good and in a moment of grocery shopping weakness, a large bottle of this found its way into my red basket.

I did manage to feel completely guilty about the added 15 minutes so some 10 minutes into my lazy-reset-alarm-clock situation, I did indeed get up.  Made my bed.  I’m neat and tidy like that…and it truly is my preference.  It has always been my preference.  My mom instilled that in me and going to PCC – where demerits were given for unkempt beds – reinforced my obsessive bed-making tendencies.  Thank you, Mom & PCC!  It makes me happy having my bed made.  It feels right.  Now – don’t get me wrong – I have had frazzled mornings when I have left without making my bed.  Currently I am struggling to remember the last time I left my bedding strewed hither-and-yon.  Hmmmm…

My 10 minute indulging did not hinder my ability to get ready for work in a timely manner.  I do love having 120 minutes to drink coffee, shower, get dressed, drink coffee & read my Bible, pack my lunch for the day, drink more coffee, and lastly leave for work with plenty of time to commute without an elevated blood pressure.  Do not get me wrong – I have had my share of mornings when my commute to work resembles Mario Andretti’s qualifying round at Michigan International Speedway.  I have been THAT girl.

My morning at work was gobbled up with time spent typing and editing the procrastinator’s document.  {Handing it to me the day before at 4:05 p.m. and saying, “I need this by the end of the day or at the very least – INSERT MY EYE ROLL! – first thing tomorrow morning.”  Surprise!  Surprise!  Still procrastinating…lovely.}  And then 1/3 of the trio is out of the office so her phone calls come to me…  I’ve determined it is my PERSONAL POLICY to answer every-other-call and forward the “off” calls to the other 1/3 of the trio.  We share around here.  And share, we sure shall.

And now here it is lunchtime.  I have a salad – Romaine lettuce, carrots, celery, Cilantro Avocado dressing topped with a chicken breast.  For dessert – Noosa Lemon Yoghurt and some fresh strawberries and blueberries.  And for a snack – a bag of almonds, cashews, and pistachios.  Mmmmmmm…I HEART FOOD.

After work, I’m hoping to run a couple errands.  I need to make some sugar scrub and I am in need of sugar.  You can’t make sugar scrub sans sugar.  And second – I need to get some fun going away gifts…I’m thinking Junque Journal supplies and maybe a picture frame.

Tonight is Bible study and I am happy to report that we are in Romans 12!!!!  I’m thoroughly enjoying this verse-by-verse look at Romans.  Last week we had the West Coast ensemble @ church on Tuesday night so we weren’t in Romans.  I’m looking forward to diving in to the practical portion of this fantastic book!!!

Happy Wednesday, blog-stalker.  Go be a blessing!!!
