What a week!!!

Actually I'm saying it more like this, "WHAT! A! WEEK!!!"

The week began with Easter Sunday which I totally am smitten with and love.  And it just soo happened to fall in March which meant I would be the Sunday school teacher who got to teach it all month long.  {Yeah meeee!}  Typically Easter falls in April and I'm the one who teaches about the Triumphal Entry and the Garden with Judas' betrayal...and I have to leave it there and the other half of the dynamic Sunday school teaching duo gets to teach the Resurrection.

Not March 2016.  March 2016 was 4 Sundays of Easter and I got to tell the children, "The angel said to the women, ' He's not here!'"

I've often wondered how they said it......you know what I mean?

Were they nice and kind, "He's not here."

Were they how you would tell someone who already heard THE NEWS, "He's. Not. Here."

Did they have a British accent?  "He's not here."

I just don't know and will have to wait until I get to Heaven to find out.

Ok - so that was day #1.  Delightful and charming.

Day #2 (work day #1...Monday...bleh.) -- Discovered the big guy was having an eye conundrum and would more than likely be most of the week.  Typically this news does not elicit fear and trepidation in my secretarial heart...however I needed him to review something for me.  And when I say "review" - I totally mean REEEEEEEEEEEEEVIEW and read and make sure nothing is amok.  Too bad - so sad for secretary Angie.

Days #3 - So I had an epiphany the evening of Night #2 to suggest to Tiff that we meet up and take the kids out for supper since her favorite accountant was working late-erish and the kids were on spring break.  Might as well celebrate!!!  * Confetti in the air *  We did...this also lead to a hysterical email on Day #4 to my college roomie titled "FOR THE LOVE OF SCRUFF!!!"  Goodtimes.

Day # 4 - I think this day went without an issue...  It was me waiting for the fill-in for the big guy to read and review the 200 page document.  *Insert Double Jeopardy theme while we wait.*  I just had typically crazies on the phone....

Day #5 - Thursday.  In honor of my former favorite co-worker (which I realizes sounds like the guy may have perished...he has not perished), I went to Meg's to get a chai.  I had a gift card in my purse but in my exuberance to have chai from my beloved coffee establishment, I paid with cash.  Who does that?  Apparently Angie Good.

This day was Manatee Appreciation Day.  It was, also, let's call Angie and holler at her day.  Thrice I was yelled at....and all calls were nonsensical and downright rude.

At circa 3 p.m. I was handed revisions for the 200 page document.  Revisions which did not include 2 missing forms which no one seemed to notice were missing.  {More on this at 8 a.m. on Friday.}  Needless to say, no copies had been made by the end of the day.  I was just thankful to get the original (or what I thought would be the original) printed out ready to go for Friday morning.

By 4:30 I was shot.  Not shot like bang-bang.  I was shot in that I sent a text to Tiffany and said, "I want to climb in your kids' blanket fort, color and laugh with your kiddos tonight."  True story.

This evening while hanging-out with the Delaney kids - Ethan learned of my crush on Captain America and how I like men with manners, dark hair, and scruff...although Captain America is NOT scruffy.  We, also, talked about Marvel villians.  Sad to say - I'm not too hip on villians.

Day #6 Friday - beautiful, glorious Friday.  This day started with coffee and ends with coffee.  All the stuff sandwiched between was just STUFF....stuff that happened to reduce me to tears.

8:15 a.m. - I open all the Word files of the 200 page document (there are like 25 files) and "Print" them to PDFS so that I can add all the page numbers.

8:25 a.m. - work on the bid opening checklist and realize I am missing 2 pages...Two pages that should be put in the middle of the already PDF-ed and smooshed together file.  It goes coversheets, index, cover, section with 84 pages, coversheet, then another 50-ish pages, cover, so on and so forth.  The covers are numberless so it's not just me slapping page numbers on.

It's at this moment that I make a decision that is totally against everything within my secretary heart.  I declare to no one particular, "I no longer care that this page is going to be out of order."  {At this time I thought there was only 1 missing page.}

I undo the PDF (all 200 pages) - add the missing page.

Re-put it back together and fiddle with the page numbers.

Done.

For like 5 seconds.

I was missing 1 other page.

Repeat all of the above.

In the meantime, my project engineer is frantically printing 30 page documents that measure 24" by 36".  GOD BLESS HIM!!!!!  He totally saved my sanity which was hanging by a thread.

There are 5 color copies within the 30 page document.

I went to the copyroom to color scan the 5 pages...only that the scanner when in color sends them as JPEGs.  Lovely - let's give the construction world JPEG documents because this is Insta-gram.  NOT! NOT! NOT!

I didn't know they were JPEGs until I went from the copyroom to my desk and then it was back to the copyroom.  I'm soo lucky.  I mean think about all the extra steps I took yesterday!  {DeDe, I need to get a FitBit or whatever they are called.}

I spent the whole morning working on this project.

At lunchtime I told my co-workers, "I'm going to take my 15 minute morning break and then I'm going to get up from the lunch table and I'm going to punch out for my 30 minute lunch.  See ya in 45!" And I believe I may have manically laughed as I walked out the door...maybe.  :)

Lunch was my favorite part of Day #6.  My students and even my Sunday school kids say that lunch and recess are their favorite parts of the school day and sometimes I try to pry another answer out of them.  I will no longer pry for another answer.  Lunch and recess are amazing!!!!!  Embrace your childhood!!!!

By 3:30 on this day I was completely gone.  Gone as in singing along with the "You've Got Mail" soundtrack playing in my cubicle.  I, even, took a "What is your Relationship with Food?" survey found in our inter-office monthly newsletter.  I answered the questions outloud.  Laughing outloud.  "Do I think about food all the time?"  LOL!  "Do I reward myself with food?"  NO!  I reward myself with lovely lotions and soap.

And now today is Day #7...Saturday...my mug is full of coffee.  I'm up and showered and ready to get dressed for my IKEA adventure.  My organized co-worker and I are off for Schaumburg shenanigans.  I cannot wait.  It was the one flicker of bright light at the end of the tunnel of this past week.  It could not get here soon enough.

Happy Saturday!!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
