For 7 years...

Off and on for the past seven years, I have prayed for my current boss's replacement.  On the rough days at work, I earnestly prayed for a positive change for my department.  I, also, may have stood infront of the bathroom mirror telling myself, "January 2017."

Seven years is a looooooong time to wait for the changing of the guard.  I mean in the whole scheme of life, seven years is not forever.  Some days it FELT like forever though!

This past June my new boss was named.  He's been in our department for 5 months now.  He's an excellent fit.  He is highly respected and cares about each of us.  He's a wonderful engineer & leader and he wants to see each of us succeed...as opposed to picking apart every single thing we do.  He extends grace and realizes we are infact human and capable of making mistakes.  His correction is not demeaning and mean spirited.  I'm so very thankful the Lord lead him to accept the job as Engineering Manager.  When I say "soooo very thankful", I want you to picture a Southern church with a hankie-waving congregation.  That's me - waving my hankie and thanking my Jesus for a new boss!!!

On a smallish, happy note - in eighteen working days, we will bid farewell to the boss of the past 7 years as he sails on in to retirement.   Ships ahoy, big guy!!!

I'm thankful the Lord gave me grace to get me through seven years with the soon-to-be-retired one.

T-minus 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
