It's Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarch!!!!!

Happy March!  Happy Spring month - both springing ahead (next weekend) and then welcoming Spring the season!!!!

Confession:  I've been looking forward to March since about mid-January...and it's not for reasons listed above.  No, I was counting down the days until March because I had over-committed myself in February.

I'm not sure how it happ----WAIT!  I know how it happened.  I, Angie Good, said "YES!" to too many things...and before I realized what was happening, every single weekend in February was full.  Full on Friday night. Full on Saturday.  And even things on Sunday.  What in the world!!!!

When I first realized this error, it was like watching something terrible happen in slow motion.  Like last weekend when I dropped a not-so-favorite coffee cup and it totally NICKED A HUGE PIECE out of my favorite coffee cup.  It happened inside my head in slow motion.  The not-so-favorite cup tumbled through the air like an Olympic diver doing a sommersault sequence off the high dive...and I could not stop the motion.

That's what happened to my February.  Commitment upon commitment kept popping up and yours truly, like the not-so-favorite coffee mug, kept tumbling and saying "YES! YES! YES!"

Well, as soon as I  recovered from the shock and terror associated with my hacienda (this is "calendar" in the world of Joyce), do you know what I did?  I took a LIME GREEN ink pen.  {Side note - I'm totally smitten with PaperMate's Ink Joy Gel 0.7 pens.  I have purple, lime green, teal, and a dark pink.  They write so smooth - like a hot knife through buttah.  Has anyone ever put a hot knife through buttah?  I always melt the butter but I bet a hot knife would work - but is the knife so hot that I need to use a potholder cause that might be awkward holding a knife with a pot holder while trying to cut through buttah?  I digress.}

Where was I???

Oh yes, with lime green pen in hand, I flipped my calendar to March and I began marking gigantic X's through weekend after weekend in March.  I marked through Fridays.  I emailed my supervisor and asked for Friday, March 3rd off so I could attend a one-day Much More ladies event in Elgin.  I marked through Saturdays.  I called and scheduled a hair appointment.

IT WAS TOTALLY INVIGORATING TO MARK THROUGH THOSE PRECIOUS DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are booked.  Planned.  Planned for nothing.

Yesterday was March 3rd - the first X.  Yesterday I set my alarm for an extra hour of sleep.  I woke-up, showered, did a load of laundry, maybe drank too much coffee (as if there's such a thing as "too much coffee" - hahahahahahahahaha!), went to the bank, delivered some tulips to a friend who's had a bit of a tough week, and hit the gym all before heading to Elgin for the ladies event.  It was beautiful.  The whole day ebbed and flowed with necessities and blessings.

While driving to the ladies event, my friend brought up her relatively recent trip to Boston.  She gave me so much info about things to do when Bryan and I head there in May.

While at the ladies event, I found a friend/acquaintance.  She brought up Boston.  It was as if the Lord orchestrated these two moments for me to encourage me and inform me about the upcoming sibling shenanigan.

Today was the 2nd X on my hacienda (remember - this is Joyce's word for calendar).  Today I slept in late because we got back super late from the ladies event...and pressing SNOOZE made me oh-so-happy.  I lollygagged around while getting ready to go to Cliffbreakers for a rubber stamp/scrapbooking show.

What a blessing to have a free admission pass to the stamping event.  My two friends and I milled around ooohing and aaaaahing over this-that-and-the-other.  I picked up some cute acryllic stamp sets.  MY FAVORITE FIND WAS A SET OF STAMP FOR BIBLE JOURNALING!!!!!!

Two hours and a total of 2 purchases later, my friends and I parted ways.  I returned to my apartment and enjoyed leftovers for lunch before reading more of my March bookclub book and dozing off for a 30 minute power nap.  It should be noted this nap could've turned into something more along the lines of mini-coma but I told myself, "Get up and go to the library!!!"

My Cherry Valley library trip scored me 2 books - book #2 in a series that I've been waiting on Rockford Public Library for about 6 weeks.  The second book was by Lynn Austin in the "New Book" area.  She's a great author.

Since Cherry Valley library is so close to the mall, against my better judgment, I stopped there in hopes of Francesca's having some pink smallish floral earrings.  No such luck...but I did manage to get some Anne Taylor gray tights on sale!!!  Of course I had (HAD!) to walk through Barnes and Noble which is basically like giving a 5-year old a roll of quarters at Chuck E. Cheese.  I mean, I had a little more control than the kid at Chuck E. Cheese...but it was hard walking through the bookstore without making a single purchase.  Talk about self-control.  I was the poster child for it today.

I left the mall and thought to myself, Angie Good, you should stop at the Salvation Army since you are THIS close.  {I love that voice inside my head!}

My Salvation Army stop lasted all of 30 minutes.  In those 30 minutes, I found 2 cute springy dresses which will work for work, church, and gallivanting about.  The first (and probably my favorite) is a black cotton sundress with embroidered cream flowers.  The hemline is scalloped with the embroidery.  SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE.  The second dress (equally as cute) is a navy cotton dress.  Simple but with coral sandals and a jean jacket - BAM!  Happy spring!

After the thrift, I determined a trip to the gym would be next on my agenda so I ran home, changed my clothes, and informed Celia of my plans.  She was not impressed.  It's unfortunate that she was not impressed because I think if she were to be impressed, it might motivate me more.  *sigh*

The gym was practically empty.  I ellipticalled while guessing the Wheel of Fortune puzzles.  I may have answered the puzzles outloud...and maybe loudly as I tend to forget that I have in headphones and I should not be talking with those in my ears.  Thankfully the gym was not busy.  The closest ellipticaller was like 7 machines away and that dude had in headphones so the likelihood of him hearing me guess the puzzle answer was slim-to-none.

And now it's Saturday evening and I'm home totally pampering myself with a hot shower, a hair mask, a charcoal face mask, a pedicure and a manicure, and some blogging. The hair mask is a new product that I've wanted to try out for a month or so.  It smells wonderful.  The charcoal face mask - why the skull, Posh?  I mean really?  If you can get beyond the skull on the lid, the product works amazingly well.  It draws stuff out of your skin and leaves it sooooo clean.  It feels healthier than pre-scrub.

Celia is snoring.  The only other sound is my fingers flying across the keyboard.  It's nice.  It's quiet...except for the feline snoring.

I love the lime green X's on my hacienda.  They were completely necessary!!!

Happy March!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
