Today I was involved in the most ludicrous exchange that I literally can't even.... And sadly I did not have my "Literally can't even" coffee mug with me.
Let me set the table for you, blog-stalker.
My fellow admin has gone out of this person's way to notify the changing of the guard when things just don't fall within the parameters of said coworker's job description. I am going stop here and say the very last bullet point of ALL of our job descriptions reads: "Any task assigned by management."
When I was in Seattle (mid-June in the year of Lord 2018), said admin told a project engineer that putting all the Word files into a PDF was just too much for said admin to handle. Said admin is an ADMIN. Putting docs together is kinda what we do.
Let's revisit the last bullet point.
As I recall, I had stayed late the evening before getting EVERYTHING (ev-er-yyyyyy-thing) ready for said admin. Hellooooo - it was ready for my boss's 6-year old to handle. I digress.
Said admin has demonstrated a lack of attention to detail that said engineer [indirectly involved in today's situation] is concerned about said admin's ability.
Said admin has also repeatedly displayed high levels of condescension to said engineer.
Said engineer and yours truly work well together. Imagine that!
Please consider the table is set.
Today...the most ludicrous thing.
Me to said admin: "Did you prepare the document for Friday?"
Said admin: "No, I assumed _________ [said engineer] was going to do it since he has been doing a lot of things I used to do."
It is so precious to me when people refuse to be team players and tasks get removed / delegated...all the while the non-team players are "wandering around" wondering why those tasks are being removed from their plate.
You don't want to play ball...take off the uniform.
