Dear Blog-stalker,
Do you ever have something happen in your life and immediately your brain reminds you of a scene from a movie?
This happened to me this past week.
The scene - yours truly was leaving the file room. My coworker walking towards me would not budge. It was one of those moments that often happens at our local mall when a group of teenagers (emphasis on teenagers) walk through the mall and they refuse to budge. You make eye contact and it's a stare down. They are usually 3- or 4-teens across...like a small gang.
Sooo when this happened to me - with clearly not a teenager - I exited to the right because that's what you do when someone won't budge. Plus I just don't have the energy to expend anymore. #noexpectations
What movie did this remind me of? Mean Girls. Ever watch it? There's a group of, you guessed it, mean girls. They are high schoolers. The scene is titled "Meet the Plastics."
My incident was so much like the MG scene that I just went back to my office and looked longingly at the Chain of Hope. I did not count the clips but I know that every single day the chain is getting shorter and shorter...and soon, very soon, there will be no more clips.
Every day I have a choice to make.
Every day I am reminded that I have Resurrection Power flowing through me.
Every day I am reminded that I don't have the stoop low.
Every day I can choose to not respond.
Don't be a mean girl.
Sincerely,
Me
