That moment when.....

....you are discussing all things Biblical at Life Group and you ar overwhelmed with thankfulness that you took that crazy step of courage and made a change.

And then you wish you could go back in time to the first mentioning of church- changing when you were terrified to leave your comfort zone so you could whisper, "It's gonna be better than ok to do this, Angie Good."

Better late than never, she smiles.

Disclaimer: I don't have my life together.

Infact I am just a girl who is thankful for God's Word, a mug-full of Door County Pumpkin Spice coffee, my painted balcony, the beautiful sunshine, pumpkin muffins, and a quiet morning.

The "quiet morning" part is because I am going to 2nd service today as I have propresenter training after 2nd service.  I am typically a first service kind-of gal.

It is so a lovely Fallish morning.  A little warm...'cause let's be honest, some years it's super cold on the 8th of October.  Not this year.  Today it's warm-ish.

Creative juices

Before you check out my very artsy Sunday afternoon picture, I want you to know the truth.

The picture you are about to view is not my attempt at showing you that I, Angela Good, have my life together.

It is not to make you think that I have arrived.

It is not to say to the world that I did my devotions today.

This picture represents a weekend of me embracing the REAL me.  The girl who needs to escape from work responsibilities.  The girl who needs to meander through a craft show.  The girl who wants to mark up and make creative notes in her Bible.  The girl who wants to know more about Jesus and journal her journey for the likes of the younger gals who come behind her.

Yep.  That's it.

That's me.

Just a girl and God's Word and some amazing craft supplies...just growing in grace and drinking decaf coffee.

Something to think about...

Both of these quotes are from Lysa Terkeurst's book, Becoming More Than Just A Good Bible Study Girl.

* Whenever I get an overly idyllic view of someone else's circumstances, I often remind myself out loud, "I am not equipped to handle what they have -- both good and bad."

Think of something you want that someone else has.  Have you been lured into thinking, If only I had ____________ like that person, my life would be great!"  Now practice redirecting those thoughts by saying instead:

I am not equipped for her good.
I am not equipped for her bad.
I am not equipped to carry the weight of her victories.
I am not equipped to shoulder her burdens.
I am not equipped to be her in any way.
I am, however, perfectly
equipped to be me.
Therefore, thank You, God, for only entrusting me with what I have and who I am.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
