Fabulous, springy weather!!!!!

65 and sunny tomorrow.  Is that warm enough for open-toed shoes?  I mean --- REALLY?  Is it warm enough to wear sandals?  Hmmmmm...I know for sure that Wednesday will be warm enough.  The forecasted high for Wednesday is 78 and SUNNY!  (When I said "sunny" just now, in my head it sounded like this..."suuuuuuuuuu-knee!")  For sure sandals will be the footwear of choice on Wednesday...but tomorrow, I am just not sure.  


As I sit here contemplating my Tuesday footwear, I keep hearing Rhonda's voice saying "Do yourself a favor and wear the skirt and sandals."  I think I shall listen to that voice.  


Now WHICH skirt shall I choose?????


It's exhausting being a girl.  There are just sooo many choices and possibilities.  Plus I could always mix things up and create a fun "Ginger-ish outfit."  2012 has become the year when I stand infront of my open closet doors and ask myself, "What would Ginger wear?"  So far, Ginger's look has inspired several of my outfits.  I think my favorite was a gray and white pattern skirt, magenta t-shirt, jean jacket, black flats, and silver accessories.


Forget Pinterest...I shall call it Gingterest.  :)

Birds singing...

Another sure sign that spring is here...the birds are singing happily this morning.  Infact, although it was dark out at 6:30...as I sat with the evil feline snuggled on my lap while I was reading in II Samuel, I could hear the melodious songs of the birds outside.  I think that they are equally as happy about the arrival of spring as the girl with curly hair.  

Death to the Dust Bunnies!!!

Yes, I have taken the lives of innocent dust bunnies.
I, also, managed to clean the cottage and SPRINGIFY the inside!  The windows got washed - inside and out.  The cobwebs and dust bunnies no longer call the cottage "home."  All of the winter-ish clothing is packed away in storage totes and stored for another six or seven months.  Spring and summer clothing has been sorted through, some kept...and some bagged-up and dropped off at the Salvation Army this afternoon.  


Flip-flops and sandals have been brought out of storage.  Ooooh and my toes got springified too.  My Ulta reward was a free bottle of "Piggy Polish."  I choose, in honor of Ginger's birthmonth, a teal color called "Embrace Adventure."  


Murphy's Oil Soap mixed with Lemon Lavender...it smelled sooo springy and sooo wonderful.  


What a FABULOUS Saturday!

Grand and glorious weekend goals

1. Take down and wash all curtains

2. Wipe down walls of cottage

3. Wash and line-dry (weather-permitting) sheets & quilt

4. DUST!!!!  'Tis sad but true, the dust bunnies gotta go!

5. Wash windows with vinegar -- inside and outside

6. Finish sorting through spring/summer clothing.  Try on the "Maybe" pile and determine if the items are staying or going...

7. Drop off bags of donate-able clothing

Knitting, sorting, and springing-ahead

My knitting project - 20 dish cloths - is completed.  Today I actually completed the 21st dish cloth which was a "Thank You" gift for the purchaser of the 20 dish cloths. 


Having given away my top secret stash of dish cloths plus the newly knitted ones, this leaves me with zero knitted dish cloths.  Sooo today, I picked up my size 7 knitting needles and began working on new ones.  I love having knitted dish cloths on-hand for little "Thinking of You" gifts.  And I am serious when I say (and I don't mean to sound conceited) -- once you use a knitted dish cloth, you won't want to use anything else to scrub those dishes and wipe down the counters.  Seriously -- knitted dish cloths will change your life.  Trust me on this.  If you'd like to experience the life-changing bliss of using said knitted dish cloths, send me your address and I will totally knit one for you and put it in the mail.  I'm nice like that...plus I love to knit for other people.  How cool would it be if we could start a knitted dish cloth revolution!!!  You know you want to be a part of this.  :)  


Other than knitting...let's see...I'm attempting to sort through my spring/summer clothes.  This is taking me a bit longer than I had anticipated, mostly because I still have my winter clothes in the closet and on my shelf.  Weather Bug is saying we are going to have some chilly days...so I don't want to pack up all my sweaters and warmer clothing...but I am soooo ready to put on some flip-flops.  


Spring has sprung!  The snow has melted and been absorbed into the ground!  I'm fairly certain the grass is delighted with the added moisture!  I saw some buds on my lilac shrubbery -- many thanks to Alicia for the lovely birthday present many years ago.  I am looking forward to a vase-full of lilacs!  (Sigh.)  I can almost smell them.  Goodness - I could always pull the top off my Yankee Candle and get a good whiff of lilacs, but alas -- I shalln't take such drastic measures.


I suppose that's it.  Oh wait...don't forget that we lose an hour of sleep of this weekend!  I like to think of it NOT as losing an hour of sleep...but as GAINING MORE DAYLIGHT!!!
