Had. The key word is "had."

Soooo I discovered an email in my Draft folder.  It was a blank email with an attachment of a picture of a fabulous truth found in Trust, Hope, and Pray.  I remember creating the email and then saving it to send at another time.  Well, tonight was that time...and it was totally an ACCIDENT!!!!  Have you ever done that?  Thought you selecting the cute little trash can icon only to discover that you clicked the SEND button???  My heart nearly stopped. Thank goodness for cardio work-outs at the gym thus resulting in a slightly stronger heart.

Oh my goodness.  Sometimes my space cadet tendencies surprise even ME!!!!

Day 173

"To live at peace in this world, we must fix our eyes on Christ, look beyond the immediate disappointment, and see the invisible hand of God who is orchestrating each day and detail to work for our good and His glory."  ~ Luke and Trisha Priebe

Day 144

In some ways, it's easier to praise God for a no than for nothing.

But when months of praying and waiting yield little visible result, it is challenging to relate to God in the way He requires.  It is tough to believe that God is still just as involved in the situations where we receive the instruction to "wait."  ~ Page 144

Day 142

"We can most readily observe our priorities in prayer when we are crying out to God for help.  What we ask for indicates what we really value.  What we ask for indicates what we think we need.  What we don't ask for indicates what we don't believe God can really do."  ~ p. 142

Day 98

The Priebes write:
"God commands us to be thankful in every situation (I Thessalonians 5:18).

It is important to understand that happy and thankful are not the same.  Happy feels what thankful knows.  We are not instructed to be happy for happiness' sake. We don't need to cheer over the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, or the dissolution of a relationship -- but we are commanded to rejoice that God is in control."

Day 35

"Job trusted God on the day of testing because Job trusted God before the day of testing.  God had already proven Himself trustworthy long before the test. The truth remains:  Job may have been confused about the circumstances,  but he was never confused about his God."

Wow!!!!  This was sooooooo encouraging!!!

Day 34

"Trials present believers with opportunities to publicly trust God - to authenticate on the dark days what is said when everything is sunny." ~ page 34

Day 29

"Our lives are often filled with events and attempts to exalt God, yet sometimes we get busy doing what we think God wants us to do to the neglect of what He actually called us to do most often: pray...During times of waiting, prayer can feel like the opposite of activity -- when, in fact, it is the most needful task we can accomplish.   When we begin to realize that prayer is not just about us -- it isn't simply us bring requests to God -- it is finding God to be good and true a d faithful, we will pray more often and with more resolve." ~ Trust, Hope, Pray by Luke and Trisha Priebe, p. 29

Day 18

"The choice to place all confidence in the Creator is not made once then written in the back of a Bible or printed on a certificate to be hung in the office.  Trust in God is a continual undertaking.  We must trust persistently."

Day 15

"So when we bring our supplication to the Lord and ask Him to hear our cry and the prayer we make before Him, we must recognize that God is more aware of our desires than we are, and He is working on our behalf to do better for us than we ask or think.  (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Prayer

Day 13.....
"Prayer does not change God.  We know this because God is unable to be changed. But God does use prayer to accomplish His will.  And we are commanded to pray.  Perhaps one of the greatest mysteries of heaven-and-human interaction is that God longs to hear from and respond to His people,  sinful though we are."

Day 9

"God is not good because He gives us what we want -- He is good because He gives us what is best."  ~ p. 9

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
