I sing:
-at church
-in the car when I am by myself
-with my Sunday School kids
-randomly in stores when no one is around
-to my cat, Maggie.
-off key in the car with my brother...especially around Christmas (he LOVES New Kids on The Block's Funky, Funky Christmas TAPE)
-in the shower
-with the Steve R during yoga. ("All you wanna do is ride around Sally...RIDE, Sally, RIDE!") He makes us sing back-up or else we have to do it again. He's evil.
Anyway...you will notice that on this list, it does NOT say that I sing in front of my co-workers. I don't. I NORMALLY don't....in fact, I will sing ONLY at the office when no one else is around...I will go through the trouble of locking the door that goes from the lab to the front office just in case someone is working on Saturdays and I don't know about it. Sooooooo...you can imagine what it took to make me CRACK and sing along with Lionel Richie on Wednesday..."Cause I'm easy, easy like Sunday morning..." And I might add, I didn't care that I was singing and chucking stuff into the shredder...
The witnesses--Doug and Lauren. I'm pretty sure they were more scared than amused...
Are you asking yourself, What made Angie Good crack? OLD FILES. Nothing even exciting. It's not like the techs (all 2 of them) drove me nuts. Nope. OLD FILES that I have to sort through...the years when there wasn't a secretary and stuff was helter-skelter...yep, I have to go through those and double-check that all the handwritten reports have typed reports. I have to pull out other documents and shred them.
My duet with Lionel came after shredding 53 bags of stuff. FIFTY-THREE BAGS!!! Basically 5 large legal sized boxes (1.5' x 3') of forms--shredded. Eaten. Gone. Destroyed.
Today the BEST THING in the world happened...okay, so really the best thing in the world would be a small fire in the conference room and hallway burning up said file boxes that need to be sorted. So this is the SECOND BEST THING--my boss told me that he wants me to take a week break from purging documents. And to that I say -- HIP HIP HOORAY!!! I'm 99.79% sure that I have Doug and Lauren to thank for this!!! Next time...next time, I am going to get them to be my back-up vocals. Maybe we could sing, "Take A Chance on Me" by Abba...that has alot of harmony...
