6.8 miles

6.8 miles from my house is the cutest apple orchard...Edward's West! I haven't been there since last fall when I met Gloria, Jackson, Reagan, Leah & Lauren...but today I was in the mood for apple cider...and not just ANY OLD apple cider, but the cider from Edward's. So after church, I came home and changed...and made the short journey (all 12 minutes of it) to the orchard.

The place was packed -- which is a good thing! I purchased a gallon of cider and a 1/2 peck of Braeburn apples...as they were described as "firm and tart." I really wanted Granny Smith, but those little gems aren't picked until the end of October. Granny Smith apples make the yummiest crockpot apple sauce. I was, however, reassured by an apple connoisseur that Braeburns will be equally as fabulous! I CANNOT WAIT!!!! Crockpot apple sauce...(sigh) has got to the be most delightful fall-ish treat I can think of...well, wait...I might have to take that back conidering I just remembered the pumpkin spice cake recipe I have. That's fall-ish...and that's equally as good...potentially better. Hmmm...I will have to get back to you regarding this love of all things fall.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend, friends!
