Blizzard warning

I have not watched any news since Friday evening while working-out...sooo imagine my surprise today at lunch, when my friend Ruthie said, "We are under a blizzard warning."  What in the world?  I mean -- I did check http://www.weatherbug.com/ on Friday at work...and I didn't notice any BLIZZARD-ISH information.  Too be honest, I thought Ruthie was actually messing with the nice, naive girl....but alas, Weather Bug has confirmed that YES - WE ARE UNDER A BLIZZARD WARNING!

I love what the website states:

"Event start - Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 12 'noon
Event End:  Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 6:00 p.m."

It almost sounds like a formal affair.  Perhaps I should get out a fabulous dress and heels... :)

I actually would like to confess that the thought of a blizzard makes my heart go pitter-patter.  Not in a scared way...but in a I-would-love-to-have-a-day-or-days-off-from-work-and-be-snowed-inside-my-fabulous-little-cottage-with-a-crockpot-of-soup-comfy-slippers-flannel-pajamas-a-couple-books-to-read-hot-tea-and-my-evil-feline.  Yeah, I'm the kind of the girl that loves a good snow day and even more sooo---multiple snowdays.  I'm probably the only girl in Rockford who feels this way...but I honestly LOVE snowdays!!!!!!!

I kind of hope this whole blizzard thing does pan out.  Just in case it's really coming, I think I will stop at Woodman's before work and pick up the ingredients to make a crockpot of chicken tortilla soup or maybe chili?  Hmmmm...oh - I should look up that recipe for sweet potato soup that Sara and I were discussing yesterday.

If you are in the path of this blizzard, stay warm!!!  Stay safe!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
