Ice Skating


Tonight after church, we are having an Ice Skating & Dessert EXTRAVAGANZA! 

Growing up on Rome Road had many benefits...we were out in the country and it was quiet.  We had a large yard.  Bonfires.  Ice skating on the pond. 

I remember ice skating fondly.  My Dad would use the big Ariens tractor and scrape the ice.  Then if time allowed, he would drag the hose down to pond and let it run for a while - just long enough to cover the surface.  We would, then, let that water freeze overnight.  It was like skating on glass.

I love ice skating!  Or atleast...I did love it.  I am hoping that tonight that I will find out that ice skating is alot like riding a bike...figuratively, of course.  :)
