This blog post comes after a word association that Pastor said this morning. He said that when we think of February, we think of love...awwwwww... Well, not all of us...that is -- more particularly ME! Soo here are my thoughts...
When I think of February, I think of...
1. Groundhog's Day. We are putting our faith and trust in a rodent. A RODENT!!!! Hello?! Why not ask a possum or a skunk? I mean really...a groundhog? Have you ever cornered one of these critters? Talk about ANGER-MANAGEMENT MATERIAL!!!! And we are waking him up (not a good idea) and asking him to climb out of his warm, snug burrow to see his shadow. A) Wake me up early and throw me out in the cold.... B) He's a rodent! C) He probably didn't see his shadow because of the BLIZZARD!
2. President's Day. YES -- A PAID DAY OFF OF WORK!!!!! Wahoo! Thank you kindly George & Abraham!!! I love you two fondly.
3. Next month is SPRING!!!

Valentine's Day. The world's worst day for being single. Just sayin'... And don't go about telling me that it's not about being with that special someone. If that was truly the case, then Hallmark would not make (and I am guessing) thousands if not millions of dollars selling sentimental cards and heart-shaped boxes of chocolate! Honestly...Valentine's Day is for couples. Saying that it's
not for couples/romance is like saying that Flag Day is not to honor the red, white, & blue...or that Benito Juarez Day (which really is a holiday in Mexico) is not about good ol' Benito! To quote my former boss, "It just is what it is." And there's not a single thing we (single people of the world united) can do to change it...so this year, my friends and I have determined to have the best Valentine's Day EVER...it will include the following - certainly, it's not limited to JUST the following - chocolate [dark chocolate] covered strawberries followed by sushi...and maybe, just maybe a decaf cinnamon soy latte!!! And if we happen to find ourselves at a shoe clearance sale or maybe at Target in the midst of the clearance racks then sooo be it...
5.
Winter is almost over!!!!!
