Today started out like any other Monday...wake-up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee (Thank you, Lord, for programmable coffeemakers!!!)...get ready for work...eat breakfast...off to the beloved place of employment...
Upon arriving at work, my co-worker (one of the fun ones) noticed I was wearing a red shirt with my heart sweater. Fortunately for me - it's not an Ugly Valentine's Day sweater (along the lines of the ugly Christmas sweater tradition). This one is kind of cute in a "I-wear-Valentine's-Day-sweaters" kind of sweater. It's pink and red with felt hearts sewn on it randomly. Yes, it's not a normal Fun Angie sweater...but it is cute and cheesy. And let's face it...I think the sweater actually brightened my day!!! Normally I wear black..or even gray in honor of V.D. Soo my co-worker said, "Awwww look at Angela. She's our little Valentine today!" That simple little statement made my morning seem brighter...I'm not sure if it was JUST that statement...or if the significant amount of coffee I consumed. Whatever it was -- this morning was kind of nice.
And then...
Somewhere in the middle of the day, I received a phone call from Gloria to discuss an upcoming Girls Weekend at Galena!!!! YEAH!!! I'm hoping that we can find that fabulous restaurant where Sara and I consumed that lovely soup and salads. (I still think about that soup and it's been 18 months!!!!) And then there are the beloved navy shoes that I exercised complete self-control and did not purchase the first time I ever went to Galena...yet, 18 months later, I am still kicking myself for not getting them. Okay -- back to Gloria's phone call...after we wrapped up talking about Galena, Jackson got on the phone, he invited me to his birthday party, and then he said the sweetest thing, "I love you, Funny Angie!" Talk about make my heart melt...
A few hours later, I received a special musical treat at work...the Kunz clan came in and serenaded me and brought me a sweet treat!
Ended the day at the gym where I saw Leah and Ruthie. It should be noted that tonight was NOT a LGW (Lazy Girl Work-Out) kind of night. Oh mylanta...for whatever reason...and I really cannot remember the real reason...I decided to restart my elliptical work-out when Rhonda showed up...never mind that I had already completed 43 minutes on said machine. Sooo "Reset" was pressed and we began another work-out. Over 1,000 calories and 10 miles later... I think I might fall into a mini-coma tonight...but never fear, Blog-Stalkers, I have a gift card for my beloved coffee establishment! (Thank you kindly, Leah!) And I shall surely use it...maybe tomorrow morning and maybe - just maybe - that Barrista will be there that makes my Christmas in my mouth drink exactly how I like it. And the funny thing is...he actually remembers me..."Soo, you're the Christmas in your mouth girl. Do you want that this morning?" Ummmm...YES! Always - always say "YES!" to a cinnamon soy latte. It will change your life...try it today!!!
After the gym, we went to the thrift by Valli. Guess what? Apparently V.D. is not a big night for thrifters...I think there were maybe 3 other people shopping. It was kind of nice. We found several (and I mean SEVERAL) floral, big bowed, puffy sleeved dresses from circa 1982. They were...well, scary. I wish I would've had my camera with me tonight because we found some special sweaters, a Christmas jumper that seriously hurt my eyes, and a couple sweatshirts that were wrong on soooo many levels. Infact one of the sweaters had lime green, hot pink, and this bright yellow...I said to Rhonda, "This sweater reminds me of how you feel now that all this junk is behind you, right?" She concurred and then said, "Please put that thing down, Angie! It scares me!" It scared me too. Exercising self-control against all the special items, I was able to obtain a super-cute pink skirt -- which I believe has the potential to be 1/2 of my delightful Easter ensemble...of course, I must now find a top to wear with it. And I also picked up a 3/4-length sleeve springy pinkish color. It has buttons and a very girly, fru-fru front. It made me think of flip-flops, painted toenails, and capris...(sigh)...
Speaking of warmth and all things lovely... Did you see that the snow was melting today? I didn't get the opportunity to sit and watch it melt (I had work to do!)...but every hour or so, I meandered into my favorite co-worker's office and I would stare longingly outside. I even saw some of that green-brown stuff underneath the snow!!!
What a great Valentine's Day!
