3 Things: Humidity, drag strip, Phantom of the Opera

Memorial Day Weekend...the kick-off of summer!  Wahoo!!!!!  I love summer.  And let me just say - today's temperature, 92 whopping degrees with high humidity, was the perfect way to welcome in summer!  Curly hair and all...because let's face it, when the humidity level is over 90%, this girl ain't gonna stand in front of the mirror straightening her curls only to have the humidity do evil things to her hair when she vacates her humble abode.  Curls won!

It's soo weird...I like several miles from Rockford Speedway...yet for some reason this afternoon, it sounds like I am living next door to a race track.  Apparently people on Riverside Blvd are using the straight-a-way as some sort-of drag strip...which, by the way, is totally illegal!  Helloooo!  Illegal and dangerous!  A drag strip only worked in Grease when John Travolta was driving Grease Lightning.  It's 2011...and I don't think Mr. Travolta is in Rockford. 

I'm looking forward to a fabulous summer.  This summer, like last, is going to be filled with sandals, fabulous skirts, and fun plans!  First things first - I am going to see Phantom of the Opera at Starlight.  I CANNOT WAIT!  Second - I am going to go garage-sale-ing with my wonderful friend, Sara.  Third - I plan to enjoy the patio at Starbucks quite a bit more than last summer!  (Note to the coffee club:  Be checking your email and Facebook Inbox messages for details!)  Fourth - FARMER'S MARKET!!!!!!  I love fresh produce.  Fifth - Lake Geneva!!!  Sixth - iced coffees
