During my most recent adventures at the Rockford Public Library, I discovered a book by Debbie Macomber titled, Knit Together: Discover God's Pattern for Your Life. It looked delightful...and I know the whole don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover routine. Soo far I am on chapter 2 - Created for Dreams. Thus far, I am enjoying this book immensely. Debbie's style of writing is a breath of fresh air. Currently, she is encouraging me to not talk negatively to myself. She writes, "Actually instead of talking to myself, I like to talk to God instead. It's difficult to complain to God about how terrible you aer when you remember you're talking to the original designer. He loves you and He wants only the best for you. And He views you as beautiful."
She concludes chapter two with
"Friends, I know what it's like to believe in your dreams
and at the same time experience the uncertainty that often
goes with them. It can be wonderful and frightening at
the same time; it can be exciting and it can be heart-wrenching.
But has God has a plan for you, and that includes your dreams...
Believe in your dream, and ask God to show you the open door
to that dream. And if that door closes, ask Him to open another.
I promise you, He will, but you must be willing to walk through
the doors do often marked 'Absolutely No Admission.'"
Soooo earlier today, Bryan and I went a-thrifting.... Bryan found some dollar shirts for work. Anne Taylor and her Loft created a delightful black & white skirt in my line of vision. :) Honorable mention goes to another Anne Taylor find -- a cute red sweater which looked positively randiant with the skirt.
I was telling Bryan, "Some one paid alot of money for these two garments...and it's wonderful that I can get them for a FRACTION of the cost!!! The skirt was probably $75!"
Bryan, "Who pays that kind of money for a skirt?"
Me, "Not the girl with curly hair."
Speaking of my curly hair....After lamenting about the humidity, my Mom said, "Yeah, it really jacks it up!" (This made me laugh OUTLOUD!!!!) A - It really does jack my hair up. B - Humidity is just evil. What I don't understand is that I need to use a humidifying shampoo and blowdry my curls to keep the humidity from the outside penetrating it. The perils of curly hair...(sigh)... I am thankful for it...because how else would I describe the antics of the Girl with Curls? I mean...."The Girl with Straight Hair"? That's not nearly as fun with Girl with Curls... :)
We confirmed that the hooved creatures down the road from our parent's house are indeed cows...bovine...they are not buffalo as we previously had thought.
Happy Tuesday!
