Her statement left me a bit perplexed...so I prayed and sought out Godly council regarding this issue: Wow -- ask and ye shall receive!!!!! The Lord provided me with ample time to talk to two dear sisters in the Lord who both directed me to God's Word -- which confirmed that I didn't bump my head or potentially eat lead-based paint chips as a child. Our speech is to be pure and edifying.
On Friday morning, I nearly fell out of my desk chair when I heard the title of the sermon on the radio -- Our Speech! The speaker said that (pardon the Angie-paraphrase), our tongue can do more damage by spreading flames. It's powerful and destructive.
Even yesterday - as I read in A Woman Who Reflects The Heart of Jesus, in the chapter titled, Wise, Elizabeth George says, "Your speech too becomes more careful and gracious as you choose to speak wisely. Wisdom works its way from the inside out, beginning with your heart." Our words are an outpouring of our heart..."Oh be careful little heart who you trust...Oh be careful little heart who you trust...for the Savior up above is looking down in love, so be careful little heart who you trust."
Colossians 4:6 ~
Let your speech be alway
with grace, seasoned with
salt, that ye may know how
ye ought to answer every man.
