Christmas program, Meg's Daily Grind, pumpkin candle a-flame

As I was typing the title, I was trying to figure out a way to put those three items in the song, My Favorite Things.  The song sung by Julie Andrews...where she lists all those random items, "Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, snowflakes that stay on my nose & eyelashes..."  I've had this song in my head since yesterday afternoon when my co-worker/cubicle-mate asked me to list off the first four items found in this song.  :)  Sing it one time on a Friday afternoon and you can mark it down that the song will be playing in your head all weekend.

Speaking of delightful songs -- I went to Michael's tonight on a search for some yarn to start creating the next knitting Christmas present on my list...and do you know what I heard playing on the overhead sound system?  Bing Crosby dreaming of a white Christmas....where the tree tops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow...(most contented sigh imaginable!!!)  Bing's voice can melt butt-ah.  My favorite line in the movie, "Oh I see, the crooner has become the comic!"  I love Danny Kaye & Bing!!!!

Lauren and I picked out a Christmas program for the children.  It doesn't involve Chewbacca and light sabers.  We are going to keep it simple -- as we only have six weeks to get ready.  I purchased scratch-n-sniff stickers today.  I forgot how much I love purchasing school supplies...bulletin board supplies, holiday decorations, etc.  They had the cutest cut-out gingerbread people.  I almost purchased them to put up in my cubicle.  They were adorable!!!

Speaking of gingerbread....I saw a Christmas cookie cookbook that is all gluten-free.  I had to restrain myself from purchasing it.  I flipped through the book...and I have a bad feeling that when (notice * it's not if, it's WHEN) I purchase this book, there is going to be good things being baked at the cottage.  Good things baked at Good's place of residence.

This blog post is all over the place...
I'm thankful that Leah was able to take time to come and meet Lauren and I for some post-Christmas-program-selecting coffee.  What a lovely hour of fellowshipping (spell check wants me to write "fellowship ping") with these girls!!!  I'm truly thankful for their friendship!  I've enjoyed seeing each of us grow closer to the Lord and with each other.  What an amazing God we serve.

And lastly....here I sit in my flannel jammies with my favorite pumpkin candle a-flame.  Technically there are two of them which creates a nice, peaceful cottage-y ambiance.  8:12 p.m. -- ha ha -- it's really only 7:12, if I want to fall-back early.  When I was a kid, I thought that the grown-ups of the world stayed up until 2:00 a.m. and turned the clock backs then.  Now I am thankful that we don't have to do that!!!

I hope you have a had a marvelous Saturday!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
