Something I read today...

"To God, all of us are beautiful.  God makes everything and says, 'It is good.'  When we begin to receive God's transmissions*, communicated to the Holy Spirit within us, we learn to view ourselves from God's point of view.  The message is very clear that no two people have the same voice-, hand-, or finger-print.  A lot of thought went into each person God created.  Dare we look down with disdain at His handiwork?  When you realize that you are exactly the way God designed you to be, and that you were not an afterthought, you will begin to appreciate your appearance and personality.  No one can do what you do the way you do it.  And as Ethel Waters once said, 'God doesn't make no junk!'"  ~ P.B. Wilson

* = Angie note:  In this chapter, she is talking about how we are like radios that give-off and receive different transmissions.  She said we need to set our "station" to receive KGOD.  When the world is trying to bombard us with ungodly things...we need to focus on HIM!

While I wait for the girls to finish up the Elizabeth George book, I picked up a book that was quoted in another Bible study that I had read.  Actually it was quoted in the last book I read and the quote piqued my curiosity.  Thankfully I am not a cat because know what curiosity did to the cat.  How very random.  Any-whoooo...I picked up this new book from the fabulous website http://www.half.com/.  The book was a whopping 75 cents.  The shipping...not 75 cents.  But still....I saved a ton of money and BONUS:  the book was delivered to my door.  Technically the mailbox and then the people in the big house brought the book to my door.  They are super nice like that. Another benefit of having FABULOUS neighbors...they are caring and thoughtful.  I'm thankful for that.

I did not realize that this new book was going to be soooo convicting.  It has brought up things that I just never really considered...  Too quote someone very dear to me, "I'm looking forward to Max Lucado's Christmas devotion because it won't be so convicting."  I do, honestly, think that every now and then, we need to let ourselves "off-the-hook" and take a break from deep theological reading.  I'm not saying to set aside spending time in the Bible....but there are days when I need to meditate on the deep stuff.  And there's no reading police that is going to come along and arrest you for taking a few extra days to chew on and digest something.  Think on these things...and I shall.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
