Thinking...

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:  When as His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.  Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.  But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for He shall save His people from their sins."
~  Matthew 1:18-21  ~

I've been thinking about Christmas.  Today - I stopped to consider the first four verses of the story as recorded in the book of Matthew.  I want to dig a little deeper...  For now, I am considering Mary.  In Luke 1:28, the Bible records that an angel came to Mary and said, "Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women."  WOW -- what a testimony Mary had.  I'm sure if she had THAT testimony with her Heavenly Father that she must've have had a fabulous testimony among her peers and neighbors.

I love the lyrics to the Christmas song, A Baby Changes Everything.  The lyrics were written by Tim Nichols, Craig Wiseman, and K.K. Wiseman.  The song is performed by Faith Hill.  It's one of the selections of my Merry and Bright playlist that you are listening too...well, if you have your speakers on.  :)

Teenage girl, much too young
Unprepared for what's to come
A baby changes everything

Not a ring on her hand
All her dreams and all her plans
A baby changes everything
A baby changes everything

The man she loves, she's never touched
How will she keep his trust
A baby changes everything
A baby changes everything
And she cries, she cries

She has to leave, go far away
Heaven knows she can't stay
A baby changes everything

She can feel, it's coming soon
There's no place, there's no room
A baby changes everything
A baby changes everything

And she cries, and she cries, she cries

Shepherds all gathered 'round
Up above a star shines down
A baby changes everything

A choir of angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
A baby changes everything, everything, everything

Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
