I forgot all about the 25 Days of Christmas... Today I was blog-stalking my friend and read her first three days and then decided that I would "borrow" her idea...so I have some catching-up to do.
The first day of Christmas....hmmmmm...that was last Thursday. Thursday was the day we started our Max Lucado book, Celebrating Christmas with Jesus. I must say the first day was a difficult read as my heart went out to Sara. In the devotional, Max reminded us that the very King of Glory left His throne and was born in a lowly manager. He took on the form of human and grew inside a virgin's womb. He dealt with the same physical ailments that you and I deal with. He was God in the flesh. What a wonderful way to begin the month in which we celebrate His glorious birth!
The second day of Christmas brought about livening up my place of employment. In the afternoon, we brought out our office Christmas tree and decked the halls... Frank Sinatra crooned and we attempted to transform our office from boring into a festive-full-of-holiday cheer sort of workspace. Also -- we determined ("we" being the fabulous gals in the office) that Ugly Christmas Sweater Day is a must this season. Sooooo now I have to seriously hunt for an ugly sweater. I believe my direct quote regarding this challenge was, "I would like to find a sweater that looks like Christmas barfed on it!" Gross, right?
The third day...Saturday...fabulous errand runner in the morning and stamper/crafter by evening. The third day of Christmas was relaxed and enjoyable.
And here we are...the fourth day of Christmas. Today we went through the Christmas program twice. Each time, I attempted to convey to the actors/actresses THINK ABOUT THE WORDS YOU ARE SPEAKING AND YOUR INFLECTION!!! There are two spots where a particular actor (who's doing a fabulous job!) struggles with inflection and ending the sentence with a question instead of a statement. Infact just thinking about now is causing me to laugh. We had a little chat. One line involves two adjectives and then the word "watch." His line describes the watch on his wrist, but because of inflection, he is saying the two adjectives and then "watch" as a verb. It was too cute. We re-practiced that line a couple times.
On this fourth day of Christmas, I am thankful for my church family. Thankful for a church where I can go and just be me and I know that the people inside those walls love me. Not everyone is afforded a church family that is this close and I hope I don't ever take mine for granted.
Happy 4th day of Christmas!!!
